Aplungen
Character of the water
Aplungen lies in central Sweden — a mesotrophic stratified lake. In summer a thermocline settles around 9 m and splits the lake into two worlds.
The surroundings
The lake lies half-remote, a fair way from the nearest road, tucked into woodland.
Shallow throughout (max 2 m), with reeds and vegetation over large areas — water that warms fast in spring.

Fishing permit required — Aplungen FVOF. Day permit ~140 kr · annual permit ~700 kr.
- Zander: minimum size 45 cm · protected during the spawn (Apr–May).

Species in Aplungen
Fishing Aplungen
Aplungen holds 4 species, with perch, pike and zander at the top of the chain and roach schooling beneath them. The modest depth keeps most of the fishing within reach of the bank.
The fishing here follows the water's own rhythm: dawn and dusk have their windows, fronts close and open them, and the season moves the fish. No two sessions at Aplungen are alike.
