The lake lies half-remote, a fair way from the nearest road, tucked into woodland.

Shallow throughout (max 2 m), with reeds and vegetation over large areas — water that warms fast in spring.

Fishing permit required — Bröttjärnarna FVOF. Day permit ~140 kr · annual permit ~700 kr.

• Pike: keep at most one over 75 cm per day.
• Handheld tackle only. Respect the protected zones at the inlets and outlets.

Fishing Bröttjärnarna

Bröttjärnarna holds 3 species, with perch and pike at the top of the chain and roach schooling beneath them. The modest depth keeps most of the fishing within reach of the bank.

General rules of thumb for this kind of water

• Clear water makes fish light-shy — dawn, dusk and night are usually best.
