Character of the water

Försjön lies in the south — a southern humic brown forest lake. The water is crystal-clear and the fish skittish in the sharp light.

The surroundings

The lake sits close to town with a road right up to it — easy to reach, but hard-fished and exposed to nutrient runoff from the buildings and fields all around.

Large and deep (26 m): a central basin ringed by drop-offs and shallow bays around the edges — varied bottom with many spots to read.

Fishing Försjön

Försjön holds 10 species, with perch, pike and burbot at the top of the chain and ål, björkna and roach schooling beneath them. The depth gives the water two storeys — and the fish move between them with the season.

The fishing here follows the water's own rhythm: dawn and dusk have their windows, fronts close and open them, and the season moves the fish. No two sessions at Försjön are alike.
