Gargaure lies in the cold north — a northern clear oligotrophic forest lake.

The surroundings

The lake lies half-remote, a fair way from the nearest road, tucked into woodland.

Large and deep (20 m): a central basin ringed by drop-offs and shallow bays around the edges — varied bottom with many spots to read.

Permits & rules

Fishing permit required — Gargaure FVOF. Day permit ~140 kr · annual permit ~700 kr.

• Zander: minimum size 45 cm · protected during the spawn (Apr–May).
• Pike: keep at most one over 75 cm per day.
• Handheld tackle only. Respect the protected zones at the inlets and outlets.

Fishing Gargaure

perch, pike and zander sit at the top of the food chain in Gargaure, carried by roach. The clearer water makes the fish wary — and rewards a careful presentation.

Whoever fishes Gargaure regularly builds something of their own: a log of what took, where and when. That's how the water gives up its patterns — cast by cast, never all at once.

• In deep, oxygenated lakes the predators seek cool depth in summer, shallower in spring and autumn.
