Character of the water

Lilla Garsjön lies in the south — a southern mesotrophic stratified lake. In summer a thermocline settles around 7 m and splits the lake into two worlds.

The surroundings

The lake lies half-remote, a fair way from the nearest road, tucked into woodland.

Shallow throughout (max 4 m), with reeds and vegetation over large areas — water that warms fast in spring.

Fishing Lilla Garsjön

Lilla Garsjön holds 2 species, with perch and pike at the top of the chain. The modest depth keeps most of the fishing within reach of the bank.

Whoever fishes Lilla Garsjön regularly builds something of their own: a log of what took, where and when. That's how the water gives up its patterns — cast by cast, never all at once.
