Tamppelijärvet
Character of the water
Tamppelijärvet lies in the cold north — a northern mesotrophic stratified lake. In summer a thermocline settles around 10 m and splits the lake into two worlds.
The surroundings
The lake lies remote, ringed by forest and bog far from any road. Few find their way here — the water is untouched and the stock undisturbed.
A small but surprisingly deep pocket (21 m) with steep drops straight down from shore — the bottom falls away fast.

Fishing permit required — Tamppelijärvet FVOF. Day permit ~100 kr · annual permit ~500 kr.

Species in Tamppelijärvet
Fishing Tamppelijärvet
perch, pike and burbot sit at the top of the food chain in Tamppelijärvet, carried by roach and ruffe. The clearer water makes the fish wary — and rewards a careful presentation.
Whoever fishes Tamppelijärvet regularly builds something of their own: a log of what took, where and when. That's how the water gives up its patterns — cast by cast, never all at once.
General rules of thumb for this kind of water
- In deep, oxygenated lakes the predators seek cool depth in summer, shallower in spring and autumn.
