Väretjärnet lies in the south — a southern humic brown tarn. The tea-stained, humic water hides the bottom within an arm's length.

The lake lies half-remote, a fair way from the nearest road, tucked into woodland.

Shallow throughout (max 3 m), with reeds and vegetation over large areas — water that warms fast in spring.

Permits & rules

Fishing permit required — Väretjärnet FVOF. Day permit ~140 kr · annual permit ~700 kr.

• Pike: keep at most one over 75 cm per day.
• Handheld tackle only. Respect the protected zones at the inlets and outlets.

Fishing Väretjärnet

perch and pike sit at the top of the food chain in Väretjärnet, carried by roach. The brown, humic water keeps visibility short — the fishing is more about vibration than sight.
